Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100: How to root your phone running Android 4.0.3 ICS firmware XWLPG

Back in ye olde days, rooting was a risky affair that made many an Android phone user scared to death when tampering with their devices. Nowadays, rooting is easy and can be done in one-two-three.
Developers have been churning out better and faster rooting methods for the Android community, which means that the process is becoming less time-consuming and easier so that newbies can jump on the customizing bandwagon and play around with their shiny Android phones.
While the method to root Samsung Galaxy S2 devices running on the Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich XWLPG firmware update isn’t quite one-click, it’s certainly a breeze. All you need is Odin, a few minutes of your time, and XDA Developers elite member Chainfire’s CF-Root Kernel. If being able to gain root access isn’t enough for you, this handy kernel will also install ClockworkMod Recovery to your device.

How to root the original Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000

The Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 is one of Samsung’s first devices on the tablet market scene. Since its inception, the device had met positive reviews from consumers and critics alike. Armed with a 1 GHz processor and 7.0 inch touchscreen, the Galaxy Tab is one mean machine for everyday use.
For Galaxy Tab owners who felt that their tablet is getting sluggish by the day, then you might want to try rooting your device. Rooting can be a daunting task to many consumers, most especially to people who are just getting to know the Android OS. But, once you gain root access on your device, the possibilities are endless. For starters, rooting can enable you to install custom scripts or even overclock your device to make it faster. Needless to say, the Galaxy Tab can greatly benefit from such modifications.
Luckily for us, developers have already made it possible to root Android devices such as the Galaxy Tab painlessly using a one-click method. Known as SuperOneClick, the said application is said to be the holy grail of all rooting methods, as it can virtually unlock any device without any hassle.
In this tutorial we will be covering two methods for rooting your Galaxy Tab. Continue reading to learn how you can root your original Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000.

Warning

Rooting your device will void your warranty. We won’t be held liable if anything should happen to your device by following the guide below. Proceed at your own risk.

Requirements

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000
  • Samsung Kies installed on your PC. This is necessary as it will automatically install most Samsung USB drivers.
  • Enable USB debugging mode on your tablet. You can do this by heading to “Settings > Application > Development > USB Debugging.” Make sure that there is a check mark beside that option.

Instructions

DooMLoRD’s Easy Rooting Toolkit 4.0

NOTE: This method has been reported to work on the Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread.  You’ll need a Windows PC for this method.
  1. Make sure you have the USB drivers for your tablet installed on your PC.  If you have Samsung KIES, you most likely have the drivers.  If not, download the USB drivers for your tablet from here (SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_Galaxy_Tab_GT-P1000_x86.exe) and install them to your PC.
  2. On your tablet, go to Settings > Applications > Development and enable USB debugging.
  3. Go to Settings > Applications and enable Unknown sources.
  4. Download DooMLoRD’s Easy Rooting Toolkit 4.0 from here  (DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.zip, 1.8 MB) to your computer.Extract the contents of the ZIP file into a folder on your computer.
  5. Disable Samsung KIES (if it’s installed on your PC) and security suites (e.g., firewalls, antivirus).
  6. Connect your tablet to your PC using a USB cable.
  7. Find runme.bat among the extracted files.
  8. Double-click on runme.bat.
  9. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  10. When the procedure finishes, the rooting tool will have rooted your device, installed BusyBox, installed the su binaries, and installed the Superuser app.

z4root Method

NOTE: This method has been reported to work on the Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 running Android 2.2 Froyo, although some users running Android 2.3 Gingerbread have also reported varying levels of success.
  1. On your tablet, go to Settings > Applications and enable Unknown sources.
  2. Download the z4root app to your tablet from z4root
  3. Install the z4root app on your tablet.    You’ll need a file manager app to be able to install the APK file.  Try ASTRO File Manager or ES File Explorer, both of which are available from the Google Play Store.
  4. Launch the z4root app.
  5. Tap the Permanent Root button.
  6. After the app has finished rooting the tablet, it will also install su binaries and BusyBox.

Bluetooth peripheral device driver not found

Hi There,

Actually your solution to your problem is simple, I was in the same situation few months ago, and i have managed to resolve th problem,

Please follow the steps below

Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) which you can download it from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx
this works for both Vista and Windows 7. I've tried it on both.

- Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configured the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do:

- Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on ComputerIcon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'.

- You'll see an 'Unknown Device' named 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device'

- Right-Click it and click on "Update Driver Software" -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.

- Click "Browse My Computer
for Driver Software" button.

Click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer".

- Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft.

- From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name "Windows Mobile-Based Device Support" with different driver versions. Select one or the latest.

- Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed.

Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'.

There are few more things that you want to pay attention to. If you have already added the device in your 'bluetooth device list' that didn't work, then remove the device and add it again. After you add it, you might need to restart the computer if it gave you a connection problem error message.

Every PCs that had Windows 7 and Vista worked after installing this software and I hope it will work for you too.

Regards

Khavish

how to root htc wildfire s 2.3.5

First of all, I'd like to thank chlinkchlink for finding out about some rooting instructions on XDA.cn. It has been a pain in the nuts to root this thing but it seems like the chinese folks over there were able to crack the thing. I am not the author of the script, I'm just putting all this together for everyone to enjoy. Also, thanks to the people of XDA.cn for their work.

I know GingerBreak works on some roms, but recent firmware versions have been fixed to not workwith GingerBreak, one example is the Bell Canada firmware variant.

So far this method works on:

  • Stock European ROMs (tested by sammyke007)
  • Bell Canada ROMs (tested by me)
  • Asian ROMs (tested by XDA.cn)
  • Waiting for confirmation on US roms.

Requirements:

  • A Wildfire S with unlocked bootloader or S-OFF. If you're still on S-ON, you will need XTC-Clip and htcdev.com to make it work. So far, noboby has cracked the S-ON on the Wildfire S via software.
  • A PG76IMG.zip file (custom recovery UI). Download here
  • A root.zip file (the root script). Download here
  • A microSD card on your phone formatted FAT32.

What does it do?: The script will install the su binary, busybox and superuser on your phone.

Step 1: Flashing the Custom Recovery UI by XDA.cn

  1. Again, make sure your device is S-OFF.
  2. Again, make sure your memory card is formatted FAT32.
  3. Place the PG76IMG.zip file into your phone SD card.
  4. Turn your phone off.
  5. Hold down the "power" button and the "volume down" button for a few seconds till you see the HBOOT screen.
  6. Don't press anything. The system will scan for some files and it will prompt you for an update. Move the cursor to OK (volume up) to start the flashing process.
  7. After it finishes, press the "power" button to restart the system.
  8. Let Android boot and delete the PG76IMG.zip file from your SD card.
  9. Congrats! Custom recovery has been installed. Process to step 2.

Step 2: Flashing the rooting script by XDA.cn

  1. Copy the root.zip file into your phone SD card.
  2. Turn your phone off.
  3. Boot into recovery: Hold down the "power" button and the "volume down" button for a few seconds till you see the HBOOT screen. Let it do its thing and then select "RECOVERY".
  4. At the recovery menu, use the volume buttons to select "install zip from sd card".
  5. Then select "choose zip from sd card".
  6. Then find the "root.zip" file on the list.
  7. Select "YES".
  8. Let the script do its thing till you see "Install from sd card completed".
  9. Select "Go Back" on the menu till you find the "power off" option and select it.
  10. Turn your phone back on and let Android boot.

That's it. Superuser will be installed on the phone along with Busybox and the su binary. You will be able allow access to applications needing root permissions now.

Troubleshooting:

Q: Superuser force-closes when an application requests for root permissions.
R: It will not FC when the 1st app requests permissions, but will FC when a 2nd app does. It happened to me on the Bell Canada firmware. It can be fixed by clearing the Superuser applicationdata and then running Superuser from the app drawer. It will request an update of the 'su' binary, and once installed, the error wont ocurr anymore. I guess I could definitely fix this by finding the su binary and packing it into root.zip, but I have no idea of where to find the latest version.

Games : Counter strike condition zero - Full ISO (Including Installer) - 100 % working and tested

this is a full version of counter strike condition zero compressed pc game
it is both single player and multiplayer game

When Counter-Strike: Condition Zero was first announced three years ago, it seemed like a decent enough idea. The definitive first-person shooter mod was at the height of its popularity, so having a single-player game based on the winning formula sounded like a good way to win a new following and perhaps entice even more people to venture online. However, those who have been reading up on the game over the years know that development has been a bumpy ride. The duty of making Condition Zero has practically been passed around more than the collection basket at Easter Mass. What started internally at Valve Software quickly moved to Gearbox, then to Ritual Entertainment, and finally over to Turtle Rock Studios. Given such an unusual development path, Condition Zero is surprisingly enjoyable, thanks mostly to some remarkableartificial intelligence. Unfortunately, the game will be remembered as a victim of its own delays. While the core gameplay is timeless, Condition Zero's release is overshadowed by no fewer than three technologically advanced, highly anticipated shooters, which all cast a harsh light on what is essentially a 6-year-old game--albeit a classic one.
